Privacy Policy

The short version: we collect very limited personal data. No accounts, no email lists, no payment processing. The calculator runs entirely in your browser. The longer version below itemizes exactly what is collected, why, who processes it, and what your rights are under California, Virginia, and EU law.

Who we are

remodelmath.com is operated by eView Technologies, Inc., a corporation organized under the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia, United States. For personal data processed in connection with the site, eView Technologies, Inc. acts as the data controller under EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the Controller under the Virginia Consumer Data Protection Act (CDPA), and the Business under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA / CPRA). Region-specific terminology is used in the relevant section below. "remodelmath" refers to the brand and the website; "eView" refers to the operating legal entity.

What we collect

We collect very limited personal data. To be specific:

  • IP addresses and standard server access logs. Your IP address, browser user-agent, requested URL, and timestamp are recorded in standard server access logs by our hosting provider, Cloudflare, as part of normal web operations. These are used for security, abuse prevention, and basic debugging. Cloudflare processes this data on our behalf as a sub-processor; their data practices are governed by the Cloudflare Privacy Policy. We do not export, sell, or analyze these logs beyond standard host-side troubleshooting. Cloudflare typically retains access logs for approximately 30 days.
  • Email content you voluntarily send us. If you email us at contact@remodelmath.com, we receive your email address along with whatever you choose to put in the message. Email is delivered via Cloudflare Email Routing (which forwards messages to a personal inbox we control). See the "Contacting us" section below for retention and use details.
  • Calculator inputs (window count, type, material, state, etc.). These are held in your browser's working memory only (React component state). They are never sent to our servers, never persisted to your browser's localStorage or sessionStorage, and never written to your device disk. Closing the tab discards them entirely. We have no record of what anyone has ever entered into the calculator. If we add localStorage or sessionStorage persistence in a future update, this policy will be updated and surfaced at the top of the page for at least 30 days.
  • Aggregate, cookieless analytics. We use Cloudflare Web Analytics, which is cookieless by design. We see daily page-view counts, top pages, traffic sources, and country-level visitor distribution. We do not see individual visitors, sessions, or any identifying information. Cloudflare processes this data on our behalf. See the Cookie Policy for the full analytics inventory.

What we don't collect

Itemizing this because it's the more useful list for most readers:

  • Email addresses. The site has no email signup, no account creation, no newsletter, no email-gated content. The calculator's results show without any email entry.
  • Names, phone numbers, mailing addresses. No fields anywhere on the site collect these.
  • Payment information. The site does not process payments. There is no shopping cart, no premium tier, no paid subscription.
  • Cookies set by us. The site itself sets no cookies. (Our hosting provider's edge layer may set a single anti-abuse cookie under specific conditions; see Cookie Policy.)
  • Third-party advertising trackers. No Google Ads, Meta Pixel, retargeting pixels, or similar.
  • Cross-site tracking. We do not participate in cross-site tracking networks.
  • Behavioral profiles. We do not build profiles on visitors.

Contacting us

If you email us at contact@remodelmath.com, the email contains whatever you choose to put in it (typically your email address and message). Email is delivered via Cloudflare Email Routing, which forwards messages to a personal inbox we control. We retain emails as long as they're operationally useful (typically 1–2 years for older threads) and use them only to reply to you. We do not add anyone who emails us to any list, do not share email addresses with anyone, and do not use the content for marketing or training purposes.

At a future point we may add a contact form to the site or a phone number routed via a third-party telephony provider. When that happens, we'll update this policy and surface the change with an updated date below.

Your privacy rights

Because the site collects almost no personal information, most data-subject rights (access, deletion, portability) have nothing to act on. Our hosting provider's standard access logs typically retain for 30 days; if you'd like us to confirm whether your IP address appears in our logs, email us and we'll do our best to honor the request, though log-level access is limited by what Cloudflare exposes to us.

California residents (CCPA / CPRA)

Under the California Consumer Privacy Act and California Privacy Rights Act, California residents have the right to know what personal information is collected about them, to delete personal information, to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information, and to non-discrimination for exercising these rights. For purposes of CCPA/CPRA, eView Technologies, Inc. is the Business responsible for personal information processed through the site.

Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information. We do not sell personal information and do not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. If this changes, we will update this policy and provide a "Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information" link in the site footer.

To exercise any CCPA/CPRA right, email us at contact@remodelmath.com. Because we collect minimal personal information from website visitors, we may be unable to verify your identity to a degree that allows us to disclose specific information — this is a protection for your data, not a denial of your rights. If you submit a verification request, we will respond explaining what we can and cannot verify based on the limited information we hold.

Virginia residents (CDPA)

Under the Virginia Consumer Data Protection Act (effective January 2023), Virginia residents have the rights of access, correction, deletion, data portability, and opt-out of the sale of personal data, targeted advertising, and certain profiling decisions. For purposes of CDPA, eView Technologies, Inc. is the Controller responsible for personal data processed through the site. We do not sell personal data, do not engage in targeted advertising, and do not profile visitors.

To exercise any CDPA right, email us at contact@remodelmath.com. Because we collect minimal personal data from website visitors, we may be unable to verify your identity to a degree that allows us to disclose specific information — this is a protection for your data, not a denial of your rights. We will respond explaining what we can and cannot verify based on the limited information we hold.

CDPA appeal rights. If we deny your CDPA request, you have the right to appeal our decision. To appeal, email contact@remodelmath.com with the subject line "CDPA Appeal." We will respond to your appeal within 60 days, providing a written explanation of our reasoning. If your appeal is denied, you may submit a complaint to the Virginia Attorney General at https://www.oag.state.va.us/.

European residents (GDPR)

Under the EU General Data Protection Regulation, EU/EEA residents have the rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability, and objection. For the limited personal data we process from EU/EEA visitors, eView Technologies, Inc. acts as the data controller. The minimal data we hold (server logs, aggregate analytics, voluntarily submitted email content) is processed under the legal basis of legitimate interest (operating and securing the site, responding to inquiries you initiate). Cloudflare acts as our processor.

To exercise any GDPR right, email us at contact@remodelmath.com. We do not currently maintain an establishment in the EU/EEA and have not appointed an Article 27 representative; if our EU/EEA processing grows beyond the current minimal scope, we will appoint a representative as required by GDPR Article 27. EU/EEA residents may also lodge a complaint with their local supervisory authority.

Data security

The site is served entirely over HTTPS (TLS 1.3). Cloudflare provides edge-level DDoS protection and bot mitigation. Because the site collects almost no personal information, the data-breach exposure is minimal.

Children's privacy

The site is not directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly collect information from children. The calculator is a tool for adults estimating home improvement costs. If we become aware that a child has submitted information through the contact email, we'll delete it and confirm with the sender.

Changes to this policy

We update this policy when our data practices change — for example, when we add a contact form, add a phone-routing service, or add additional analytics. The last-updated date at the top reflects the most recent change. Material changes will also be summarized at the top of the page for at least 30 days after the change.
